Well, Alex first, actually.

I hadn't seen them before, merely wondered at the time why you were so quiet. They included some useful stuff, so I'm glad they appeared in the end.

Right, Vingans, horses, bows, and so on. Yes, I can think of any number of ways in which I can have horse-riding Vingans in MY Glorantha. That's easy. But coming soon to a Tradetalk near you will be a Vingan write-up intended for use in everyone's Glorantha, hopefully without wrecking it. I've already got problems in that I took great care not to contradict Orlanth from River of Cradles, and of course when HW finally comes out it will contradict RoC, and therefore, my Vinga. I think I approve of the changes to Orlanth as now clarified, but they aren't helping with this sort of thing.

Now, if I go back and make a few mods to the generic, overall Vinga write-up to give her Horse and Bow powers, then yes, she can get them from Elmal. So why don't male warriors get them? I made a few hints in the write-up so far (Elmal doesn't trust his beautiful wife Hippoi to the blokes!), but how about Bow skills? Why don't all Orlanthi warriors get bow skills from Elmal, instead of messing about with the inferior javelin? I'm sure there's a good reason, but I've never figured out what it is.
