This idea has been firmly rejected by Chaosium/Issaries, and I see no
reason to suppose they will change their minds. However, there are two things
that mitigate against this:
- There will almost certainly be RQ/HW conversion rules posted on the
WWW by somebody, somewhere, within a relatively short period of time.
- One of the advantages of HW is that, being such a simple system,
translating to and from RQ ought to be a bit of a doddle anyway. The keywords
translate more or less directly into RQ cults (although there are a number of
new ones that have yet to be written up for RQ e.g. Heler), and you ought to
be able to translate HW abilities into RQ skills and characteristics without
too much difficulty. "Good at sneaking about" is obviously going to translate
to Stealth, frex, while "Close Combat (broadsword +1/-1)" gives you a good
skill in broadsword attack and parry and lesser skill with other weapons. The
magic may be a little trickier (I don't know enough about it yet to comment)
but, even so, it shouldn't be that hard to work out what a Storm Voice has
access to, frex. New cults would be the problem here, but that would clearly
take too much space than could be provided in the HW rulebook.
