Note that Daysenaras is a mystic path to the sun, rather than a purely divine one, AFAIK. Thats what the High Sun means - Daysenaras 'worship' is about trying to direct contact the power of Sun, rather than indirectly via an intermediary deity.
This meshes, in one of those wonderful synchronicities that seem to
happen with Glorantha a lot, rather well with the modern Yelmalio cult, as
represented by the imperfect medium of RQ rules.
Note that the Yelmalio cult
a) has extremely crap magic, especially spirit magic
and
b) gains abilities, particularly martial fighting abilities, through
curious acts of self-denial (ie gifts and geases) - vaguely like Kralorelan
martial arts magic.
and
c) typically retire to a life of pure meditation.
and
d) most important myth is about denying the power of the world, and taking
what it throws at you, and not necessarily taking the chance to take power
when you can (all very much in keeping with the mystic approach to the
heroplane).
All sounds rather mystic to me. Of course, its all horribly messed up now, but the mystic origins are still clear.
Cheers
David
