A while back there was reference on the Digest to Aldryami literally regrowing (or perhaps reattaching) limbs from those lost by deceased comrades in battle.

A few days ago there was story in the (London) Times that parts of thumbs were being regrown on bits of coral.

Perhaps this is something that some merfolk would get get up to?

(or at the very least Godlearners or Vadeli)
