RW science

On the subject of RW science I'm going to cheat and take the God Learner option. After all, it was most likely the GL's who began to consider such questions as why Air aids the burning of Fire and would therefore be the culture most responsible for answering such dilemas. Not wishing to sound _too_ God Learnerish, but it is obvious that such things occur due to the Great Compromise. Yep, that old chestnut again : ) The Compromise calls for all the gods (and therefore elements) to have an equal and shared place in the world, a compromise, a friendship, working together to succeed. Why does a candle need air to burn? Because the Compromise says that it does - just as Fire and Storm came together to create life when the world itself was almost destroyed, so shall storm and fire work together to give life to the flame - take one away and there is no heat, no light, no life. Why does a fish need aerated water? Because just as the Storm gods invaded the seas in Godtime and took from the Sea gods land and territory, these victories must be realized within the Compromise as concessions for the Air gods. They have earned the right to force all creatures to _need_ air, to rely upon them, to accept their place in the Cosmos. I think all physical laws can be explained as such. Of course, in the Sky Dome you do not need air to breath, fire needs to air to burn and there is no darkness. Deep sea creatures from the lower portions of the HeroPlane are exempt from these rules for they also need to air. Anything from outside the Inner World is exempt from such physical laws.

What about non-Western societies, and other cultures that don't believe in the Compromise? Simply, any non-Westerner who is thinking about such things will be hung for being a God Learner and asking such questions : )

All IMO,

Nikk E.
