Don't know when the Mislari pass was lost, but Kartolin pass was lost during the Dawn Age.>>
Pretty much at the end of it though, which is centuries after the Orlanthi entered East Ralios, regardless of which direction they came from.
<< Praloria is very far from Eastern Ralios,>>
About 150 km (95 miles), to be precise. Assuming that Helby was already Malkioni (or some other culture) at the time, which there's no reason to suppose.
<<and there's a lot of trolls and elves in the way. >>
No there aren't. There are elven forests either side of Pralorela, but I see no evidence of there being elves *in* the region, or between it and E Ralios or Wenelia. The trolls aren't even close. Lots of Pralori, I grant you, but they had their bottoms kicked in 115, allowing a number of centuries for Orlanthi to reach E Ralios before the Gbaji Wars.
<< But in 1000 years of near complete isolation (sorry, I discount occasional magical flying back and forth as real, cultural communication) and continuous exposure to a strong Western culture they haven't changed into something dramatically different?>>
In some cases they have, e.g. the henotheists in Otkorion. And even the people of Saug and Delela aren't Heortling Orlanthi and so *are* different in a number of ways to the Sartarites and Heortlanders. But they haven't given up their religion, and given the difficulty I would have thought Western forces would tend to have penetrating such terrain, I don't see that as too surprising.
Forward the glorious Red Army!
