I had stated that Hastatus was 'god of the sunspear' and ergo a sky god, but Peter replies to the same question with:

<< Neither Sagittus nor Hastatus are Sky Gods as their magics are not fireorientated.>>

On Sagittus we agree, evidently. But Hastatus is, as David mentioned, Star 87 'also commonly called Avivath, a later incarnation of the sunspear hero'. I took this to mean that Hastatus/Avivorus is an earlier incarnation of said hero, particularly since his only other mention in GRoY that I know of has him incinerating Orogoros the Naughty Emperor with the aforementioned blazing weapon. Admittedly, the spear gets made for him by Antirius, but I'd have still thought that his cult is likely to have burning spears of some sort in its magical repertoire. Indeed, he is listed under 'Other Sky Gods' in the Gods Wall write-up, and I would have though that Plentonius could at least get that sort of thing right.

Or so I read it. Am I missing something?

Forward the glorious Red Army!
