Pavis the 'alf-an-elf

They can't. Therein is a mystery. Since it is manifestly impossible for an aldryami to breed with a human, or with a mostali as Pavis has also been alleged to be half-dwarf & half-elf, how could this half-elf stuff be true?

Answer 1: Adoption. Pavis was a human adopted by Aldryami, or an Aldryami adopted by humans.

Answer 2: Initiation: Pavis was a human initiated into Aldrya and/or Mostal. Any implications vis a vis Illumination are your own.

Answer 3: Initiation into another nature cult: Pavis was a human initiated into some other nature type cult with ties to Aldrya, such as Yelmalio, Oria, or the Beast Valley cults.

Answer 4: Multiple People: The figure known as Pavis is an amalgamation of three or more actual people. One, the human, the source of the City Harmony spell, was known as Pavis. One was Aldryami, and the source of the Garden. One was Mostali, and the source of the Flintnail cult. Together, they were known as Pavis. This melds well with the way that Pavis got Giants to do the work of building Pavis in the first place.

Decide for yourself which Answer seems best. I pick #4 with a touch of #3 mixed in. YGMV.
