Bloody Jeff - Deep Source

BLOODY JEFF - DEEP SOURCE Once upon a time, in a tiny almost-forgotten and nearly bankrupt State Down Under, there was an election.

And as a result of the Election, there was a Liberal Premiere called Jeff.

Jeff was a conservative. A rune level conservative, heroquester of the Thatcherite paths. (To the constant annoyance of all Americans, Australian conservatives are called 'Liberals').

And behold, the State changed.

Pain can be be good for us, said Jeff.

Jeff's tentacles extended to a suburban primary school with very small seats, a school called Bayswater.

Bayswater was home to a teacher called Mr MOB, and was about to host a convention called RQCon Down Under.

One of the organisers, looking for a convention mascot, thought of the drop bear, a ferocious Aussie creature much feared by japanese tourists and American soldiers on exercise. The organiser (who had an annoying habit of referring to himself in the third person), was also haunted by a novelty ditty popular at the time that went, "Jeff Kennet's responsible... for everything that goes wrong".

The organiser conferred with MOB. An idea took form. Then MOB in his usual gifted if somewhat manic way, (after all MOB lived under Jeff) conversed with a distant pom called Dan Barker.

And behold, a cute and cuddly chaos drop-bear was born, mascot of RQCon Down Under.

For some completely unrelated reason, the mascot was called 'Bloody Jeff'.

Bloody Jeff appears on the cover of Questlines I and II.

"Out of the south she came, as mysterious and violent as the blessing winds of Sea Season, and just as beautiful. Out of the south, through gors deep and gallt wide, 'cross ice-shielded streams and shadow-dark valleys. Out of the south, till at last she came to the stead called Lagerwater, home to the Bluefoot Tovtaros, the true Orlanthi folk at the very centre of the world.."

                                                                "A
Rope of Cedarbark".
