Despie the warning in Cults of Terror/Lords of Terror there is a= lot to be said for playing chaos creatures as the occasional= one-off [I agree that long term playing of such undesirables is= probably not good, just look at all those VampireTM players= ;-)].
MOB trys not to admit he wrote such a thing nowadays, but his= three session Thanatari convention module gave a particularly= good feel as to why successful chaotics generally don't last= past the morning after (although inflciting appalling damage on= their surroundings; chaos or non-chaos in the process).
Also playing a one-off chaos monsters "go out and destroy" module= can help give you a feel for what makes these different= creatures/cults tick. As opposed to just being different faces= on the same "D&D orc" TM the party must fight to get to their= goal. [The vampires domination? of the village chief and his= wife so that they kept sending people out in small groups in to= the dark, dark woods and never came back was a particularly= elegant twist.]
Maybe Australians are just weird ?
Cheers, Andrew
