St. George's Day

Actually, in the 18th-century British army, the days of St. George, St. Andrew, St. David, and St. Patrick were all holidays. If there was no present nor immanent combat, men of the appropriate nationality were exempt from duties for the day, given a monetary bonus (from the Crown), and generally made nuisances of themselves.

How does this translate to Glorantha? There is an amoral, bloodthirsty, expansionist, multinational empire heavily associated with red on Glorantha, too (although the red is probably not necessarily the color of the regimental coat). Thus, the Lunar Empire might very well have similar custom: On St. Hrestol' Day, the Carmanians get off duties. Similarly for the Pelorians on their day. Similarly for the Dara Happans during the Summer Solstice. Et cetera.

Certain geurillas might notice this detail...
