Antigods in the Vithelan sense (aka Adpara) are in one sense antitheses of gods and in another sense not. If you told an East Islander about Wakboth she would most likely see it as a really nasty antigod.

But, in an antigod is not anti-nature, extra-cosmic etc, as wrangled in anoter thread. Put at its most simple level, the Gods (Parloth) are the children of Vith and his fair/day/etc. wife Laraloori, while the Antigods (Adpara) are the children are the children of Vith and his dark/night/etc. wife Gebkeran.

At the next level, the Gods are those who follow the cosmic order and do their appointed duty. The Antigods are those who don't, the rebels, the impatient, the discontended ones.

At the final (of this exposition) level, the Gods are those who help, or at least don't oppose, the mortals' quest for Liberation, while the Antigods are those who actively oppose Liberation.

That said, Antigods are not necessarily evil. It is possible to worship (some) Antigods and be a nice, responsible person. Plenty of non-Vithelan deities which are considered good and definitely not antiare  antigods in the Vithelan scheme: Orlanth, Pamalt, Malkion.

So, to get back to Julian's question, it's a similar comparison, but made along a different dimension.
