The myth was used to convert the Orlanthi to the Goddess. Secondly Dara-ni is only a part of Sylila (the erinflath river valley) and it never was totally Dara Happan (the Dara Happans only controlled the Towns during the early modern age and their influence has waned a lot since then IIRC).
