G'day all,

Disinterring the moldering corpse of RQAiG

I said:
>Seems to me that the previous attempt at a new set of RPG rules for
>Glorantha (remember RQ AiG?) got sunk because way too many people got
>stuck into it before it had a chance, and the authors got distracted
>dousing little fires all over the place rather than just concentrating on
>getting the bugger finished.

Kevin Rose said:
>>Well, no. The problems were that a) Greg and Sandy both thought it needed
>>some work done to it and the designers were somewhat possessive of their
>>work. b) The designers didn't listen to the playtesters. (Remember the
>>godlike shamans and the useless sorcerers?) and C)This was Avalon Hill
>>that was trying to publish it, so I'm sure there were other problems at
>>that end that I'm not aware of.

While with my last post I suppose I'm guilty of starting this, I am reluctant to disinter the moldering corpus of RQAiG further: the purpose of my post was more to urge the HW designers to keep their eyes on the ball than rake over the coals of a long-dead project! I don't dispute anything that Kevin says here, but is a fact that the hapless designers of RQ4 wasted a lot of time and energy publically defending their work-in-progress when they would have been better off just getting it finished.

Pardon my jangled metaphors above,

MOB PS Star Wars Ep.1. I know I said it stunk, today I spoke to a class of 10 yos and every kid who's seen it says it rocks (even Jar Jar). Guess I'm just old and jaded...
