I certainly see no reason to make shamen honest, or even to make them value honesty. If you can give me an example of an honest and straight talking shaman then I would be surprised. Piety is also not a trait that I would associate with Shaman but feel less certain about it because of a less clear definition. I view a shamans need to make bargains, deals etc with spirits makes him more pragmatic with regards spirits (although I guess this may appear as piety to a non shaman)
