Okay, there are numerous radical differences between Glorantha and Earth, but that doesn't mean that everything *has* to be different. If too many everyday things are different and strange in Glorantha, then people will rapidly get weirdness fatigue and go off the whole thing. Everyday Glorantha is reasonably similar to everyday Earth, so the differences are interesting when they crop up.
