I am no expert in African culture, but I recall Masai also drink blood from
their beasts: they are herdsmen but also verrry warriorlike people AFAIK.
Moreover, blood is more digerible and abundant than milk and even male
beasts produce it.
Do not be overly "civilized", pals, and make your brain dominate your nose
(and stomach).
