Martalak is the name that the Vithelans gave to the Magician from the West. He represents those who try to understand the world through reason, instead of comprehending that it is a mistake. He is a son of Vith and Gebkeren (Mother of the Antigods).
He may or may not be Malkion or Zzabur. The God Learners thought he was in their quest to understand the world but he bears as little resemblence to Malkion as Humct does to Humakt.
