Of course the problem with taking those you have killed and heroquesting so that you effectively hide behind the deities that are already the enemies of the deities of those you killed has another drawback. If you succeed any less than perfectly, rather than the enemy cult forgetting all about you, the enemy *god* suddenly becomes *your* personal enemy. Suddenly, those trolls hear your name in their nightmares. Suddenly, your face is drawn in blacklight tattoos on the bellies of thanatar sacrifices. Your secrets become common knowledge of Lunar spymasters. Your darkest fears are gossipped about at the Kingdom of War abbatoir baths. Bad news...

Yes, heroquests can be powerful, but they tend to give you additional powerful enemies rather than making amends with the ones you already have.
