Okay gang, I've just sent the frozen version of the files to Greg - Layout & Priniting to follow, so I've got time to talk a bit...
THE BHT is one of the cultures available to starting players in HW. We did this because I wanted to have a Sorcerous example culture since they are one of the harder things to work out just from the chapter on sorcery magic (The other new culture is the Grazers, who are Animists. Sorry those who want a Mystic culture, we just don't have it).
The BHT is a Low Order (a bunch of people who follow the rules of a saint but aren't church wizards). You can play either a Rider or a Steed. The Steeds are what give the BHT a bunch of useful things, like traveling on the Other Side, and seeing in the dark. The steed is the "senior partner" but the Rider is more than *just* the steed's follower. At a certain point in the rider's life, he & the steed will be taken to Hell and there he they will fight for dominence. The winner gets the secret of "Control [Steed or Rider]". he will then be the senior partner in the duo forever after (even if his partner is killed and he gets a new one). The winner of the contest is eligible to become a high-ranking officer in the BHT (there are at least 7 regiments in the BHT - we know this from the DP wargame).
The culture of BH County is sort of like Puritan England under Cromwell - Ethilrist & his people follow the teachings of St. Atrox, who pre-dates the Abiding Book (the Malkioni "Bible"). It's all very Old testament, with Obedience being a big part of going to heaven.
