>Considering dragonewts as mystics,
>is the egg a piece of the eternal, changeless trascendent
>world?
The original egg was not a piece of the eternal, changeless, transcendent world but was born from Orxili, a six-armed monster mentioned in draconic metaphysics.
Thus from the outside, the dragonewt egg would look leathery and unchanging, it appears in the inside as a terrifying six-armed monster. Whenever a 'newt is killed, the six limbs grapples with it and forces it to re-enter the world, each limb inflicting one wound upon the 'newt if they are able.
The number of limbs the newt defeats determines the type it will be reborn as. As part of their initiation into the draconic way, most 'newts start off having defeated the first and weakest limb and are born as crested. If the 'newt is reborn and the first limb manages to defeat them (because of bad karma), then their draconic self is destroyed and they become outlaws.
Defeating further limbs improves the 'newts spiritual prowess. Defeaters of two limbs are beaked 'newts, three limbs are tailed priests etc. Those who have defeated the fifth limb are reborn as dragonets but very few remain on the surface of glorantha as they prefer more exalted draconic realms.
Defeaters of all six limbs are true dragons and are free of Orxili's taint.
