Just like his Mother, in fact:

The Red Goddess appeared at an otherwise obscure rite (the ritual of the Seven Mothers) in a small city (Blessed Torang) and had no large initial following or rituals (just five people and a zeitgeist, plus a job-lot of singing domestic animals, and one Mythically Significant Spider).

But we *know* that Teelo Estara ("She Who Has Come") was previously Teelo Norri (cute red-headed orphan from the streets of Torang), who had a past history before she became the Goddess (though this is deliberately obscured by her followers).

The parallel is exact. "The actual fact of the Goddess's appearance seems to have been taken by many to be the reason why she was worthy of support in the first place." Nobody in their right mind would have followed Little Orphan Teelo, were it not that she was now a Goddess.

But this DOES NOT MEAN that Teelo Norri did not exist before the Seven Mothers awoke in her the current incarnation of the eternal Lunar Goddess.

Now: why is it that I can see this, but Martin Laurie won't?
