Nor does it sound very Mostali to me :-(

I'm going to have to work on magic keywords for each of the Mostali castes. "Grimoires" doesn't feel too dwarfish - I think I shall have to go with Field Magic Manual. FMM-1591-101-A - Alignment of Nodes for Cross Ocean Travel and Related Functions for example.
