John Hughes asked thusly:

>What do earth temples look like? What are the more common layouts?

I don't think there are any "common" layouts; many earth temples are probably quite unique, tied to specific landmarks or Divine Spots (groves, caves, fields, hills, valleys, mountains, ponds, clefts, etc) that contain aspects of the Goddess/-es.

Some temples double as functional buildings (wells and granaries as you suggest, but also as gravesites, treasuries, wineries, storage, communal houses, shelters etc)

Some temples are simply repositories for relics, statues and artefacts; the ritual areas possibly being elsewhere on the tula (especially those temple that are Orlanth and Ernalda combos).

Some temples are virtual in that they are "erected" whenever the priestesses bring the relics together and bless the area.
