<<
What do we mean by metaphysics, anyway? >>

According to Aristotle:
"a science which considers What Is simply in its character of Being, and the
properties which it has as such"

According to C.E.M Joad:
"Metaphysics, then, is concerned to establish the common character which
everything that is must possess in order that it may be at all."

Further, according to C.E.M.Joad:
"..while metaphysical systems may and do differ in the most bewildering
fashion, they are all or almost all unanimous in denying the title of full reality to the worlds affirmed by common sense and explored by science."

All of these things could be applied to Glorantha, but since Glorantha is part of the Real World (in that it exists in the minds of real world people) then the metaphysics of the real world in some way include or contain the metaphysics of Glorantha. This argument obviously leads the metaphysics of the real world more interesting because they include Glorantha as merely one part of the overall scheme. My reasoning is probably wrong here, but *I* know what I am trying to get at. Pretty Off Topic though. On Topic: some writing on philosophy is pretty obscure and could easily be nicked and used as forbidden godlearner texts (by addin a few Gloranthan references) concealing important scenario hooks by the enterprising GM.

If that isn't a flimsy rational for an of topic post then I'm a pragmatic truth theorist.
