The answer to "Is Yelm the Sun, or is Elmal" and "Is Chaos Good or Bad" and all those other questions that have been floating around the lists recently is "Yes".
The Hero Wars (The gloranthan event, at least, and the game based on it) will decide those very questions. Entire peoples will put their faith on the line and commit to one viewpoint or the other. They will back their chosen hero, who will debate/fight/convince heroes of the other viwpoints, and the winner takes all.
Currently:
Yelm is "The Sun" for the Dara Happans
Elmal is "The Sun" for the Orlanthi.
Kargzant is "The Sun" for the Pentans
Yu-kargzant is "The Sun" for the Grazers
Etc.
At the end of the Hero Wars, everyone will see "The Sun" the same way.
