This is close to being exactly right, except : "no" connection is probably a teeny bit too strong. The Humakti strive to become like Humakt, but many of them never succeed completely, and may retain some sort of connection with their old selves.

Just a quibble really : I agree too !

'honour' is an eminently social substance IMO

I agree with both of you, actually! ;-)

That is, both solutions are viable as being different ways for various actual Humakti to be involved with clans (or not).

I disagree, actually. There are differences, but it's not so binary. Pending Long Form Humakt ;-) I believe that most Humakti can have families, that is that they can at the very least have spouses and children.

Those that are particularly close to the Death Rune (whether temporarily or 'innately'), such as members of certain Humakti Hero Cults ; those personally devoted to him (as on p.169 of HW) ; those having performed certain Death rituals ; and others, might be unable to have any family at all. However, remember that even Humakt has children, the most famous of them being of course Arkat. I assume there are others.

Much would depend which Aspect of Humakt you were Initiated or Devoted to. If this were Humakt as the Severer, in most cases you'd be kinless. Humakt Death Wielder, you might or might not be personally infertile (depending on the degree of your worship, and on the local cult). Humakt of the Sword of Life, and you might be a fairly ordinary Heortling who just happened to be a worshipper of the Death Lord.

Basically, all depends on your decisions for your own house campaign, as usual. :-)
