The _sailors_ do not worship Vargar, that is correct, rather its the pilots and "engineers" who do so.

The Yestendos guys maintain the reed boat structure, so in a sense they keep it in the air, the Vargari actually power it with the energy of the Goddess.

Agreed. Though the Celesital elite includes Vargari and many other otherwise unwritten or unpublished Lunar and Yelmic cults. The Sky Captain cult would be Urimaz or a variety of other recognised Sky Captains who serve as marines, as you say. Anaxial is an aspect of Yelm and as such would certainly be classed as officer material and possibly a navigator too.

Also agreed. The Darjiini are not officers (unless they have happened to have risen far in Vargar or a cult that would have officer status on the boat). Rudders is another issue - Greg said they have masts and may have a form of rudder, but he wasn't sure. I expect we'll hammer it down with him when the Imperial book gets closer to completion.
