Certainly what we've been doing - and I understood from a previous discussion on one of the HW lists that this was 'correct' - is to treat a person's main religion as determining their type, and anything else as misapplied. So in your example, Irripi Ontor would provide a grimoire of spells that resembled the appropriate feats.
