The most important adoption ritual is Orlanth's greeting ritual as described in the Orlanthi books.
The two most important secondary 'adoption' rituals are the adoptions of Elmal and Heler into the Tribe, although there are other rituals mentioned in ST.
Basically, a ritual exchange of protection and service (or some other provision).
The enthrallment ritual is also a form of adoption, because the children of your thralls will belong to your clan (as do the thralls themselves, actually).
But note that that's the way men adopt men : when men & women are involved, the adoption ritual is called a 'wedding'. ;-)
Also note that 'there's always another way' to do such things.
