Its easier said than done to avoid such mythic associations - quests which work against Basmol might turn out to work well against Orlanth the Lion, and then you find the roles a little redefined. Or the other way around - you meet an old enemy of Basmol the lions (say, lost Praxian mercenaries), and don't know how to defeat them, but someone finds an old Praxian document about how the lion deals with them. Or you just run into people in the otherworld who recognise you as a Lion cultist, and so treat you like a Basmoli.
