The heart of the Dark Empire (or Autarchy) was Safelster. Lankst was an Orlanthi Land that was placed under troll domination by Arkat and liberated by Jofrain Nightburner (hence the confederacy that bears his name). The Lanksti have reason enough to hate Arkat and his worshippers (the Safelstrans) with a passion.
