Shargash's worship didn't develop in a natural society but was forced on the Dara Happans by the presence of Alkoth. They would alter "badly concieved mega powerful one-idea god" to "complete nightmare" and wish there was someway that they could replace him with a more benign deity like Humakt or Urox. Shargash seems obsessed with destruction because Destruction is a Cosmic Force and he is the divine expression of it.
