While trying to prolong some incredibly boring task at work, I decided to
jot down a couple of stray observations. It seems to me as if whips should
be a part of Orlanthi society, but I haven't noticed them much of anywhere
in Gloranthan literature. They would be useful in herding cattle; they can
be used in rituals to evoke thunder and lightning; whipping contests could
be featured at festivals (displays of prowess, not as some kind of cheap
thrill, unless your tastes happen to run that way). There are probably
other uses that I haven't even thought of yet. Anybody agree, disagree, or
have something to add?
