Jerome Blondel:

>Both Pentans and Hyalorings have their own horse-breaking myths.

They have the _same_ horse-breaking myths.

>The hyal degenerated during the Great Darkness and finally disappeared
>shortly after the Dawn, because the Hyalorings gradually forsook their
>ancient deities and worshipped other gods such as Elmal or Kargzant.

The Hyal disappeared because the Hyalorings [of Saird] no longer kept their pure horse taboos - herding cattle was one easy way to do this. AFAIK Kargzant was worshipped by the Hyalorings from the earliest times.

>In Pent, Hippogriff was robbed of her claws and wings by the trolls
>when the Hellcrack opened, and became Hippoi, mother of the breed
>called False Horse in Dara Happa but which is actually the same as
>their own sered (how strange..).

Reading Anaxial's Roster, I get the impression that the sequence is:

Pent: Hippogriff --> Hyal --> Sered

The Hippogriff was torn apart to become horse of the breed Hyal. Hyalor tamed these horses, they degenerated during the Darkness to become the many Sered breeds.

Peloria: Yelm's Horses ---> Sered

Yelm's Horses became weakened when they fought against the False Horse (breed Hyal) and later the Ten False Steeds (the degenerate Pentan steeds) to become the many Sered Breeds.

Although one could chalk it down to many descents (the Malkioni and the Kralori also have their own myth), the picture is complicated by horses not being present in the earliest Yelmic mythology (i.e. they got it from the Pentans).

>Some of [the Pentans] could have become the Star Gazers who
>brought Buserian's frame to Yuthuppa during the Long Night.
>They were on foot.

I think Buserian's frame was dragged by horses rather than by foot (the text doesn't say who dragged it). I interpret the arrival of the Starseers to Yuthuppa as being the same event as the Targos tribe moving into the lands around Yuthuppa.
