I hope so, too. I'm betting, though that it something more like "spirit ally" or something. Perhaps there are spirits that you bind into fetishes (e.g., tatoos, jewelry, etc.) that give you continuing abilities. There's probably lots of ways to get there.

I wonder how the telmori and such will be handled. Integration seemed like such a good mechanic it, though it probably would have been better to say that the "spirits" they were integrating were their parts that had been lost and re-found, or something. They are the classic case of needing to be able to add something to themselves. Or maybe they just "find" something "within" themselves. That would work for elves, too.
