Joerg Baumgartner:

>This is a development similar to the pre-Hrestol Malkioni,
>who concentrated all magic in their wizard caste,

Not so. It's not even true for the Brithini.

People in the Kingdom of Malkion were proud of their knowledge
and mastery of Logic. Malkioni all knew that Logic was the
basis for their lives. With Logic they recognized the difference
between matter and ebergy, and differentiated anything non-
logical to be instinct, unthoughtful and therefore inferior.

Further, the sorcerers of Malkion had access to the power of
Reason, for they still knew of Malkion the Seer, who they called
the Prophet. The Prophet had disappeared. The Zzaburites
afterwards endlessly discussed reality, to refine their keen
         understanding.

This mastering of Reason and understanding did have a benefit.
With its lessons, the sorcerers were able to manipulate both
matter and energy to affect humans, the world, and the spirits
all around them. In that way the sorcerers were able to cause
great catastrophes to preserve their people from divine magical
         and human assaults.

If Reason can be used to perform magic, then Logic could also be used likewise.

>For some
>reason, Aeolian Heortland has been labeled "misapplied worship", though
>I still try to see the intrinsic difference between them and Serpent
>King Seshnela or the Stygians.

Because the Seshnegi and the Stygians are mixed worshippers. They worship their gods and spirits as gods and spirits unlike the Aeolians who worship their gods as Saints.
