>Is there any information in print about Laskal, that most missing of

>Missing Lands.

The local elves are part of the Jungle of Moino which does not have its own Great Tree (Elder Races p38, Missing Lands p59 and 61). They are not native to the region having migrated from the east during the late Dawn Age (sparking Garangordos's migration to Fonrit). Their reason for migrating here probably is related to the lengthy battles of Aldrya's Woe.

When Harrek sets up his Pamaltelan Kingdom, he has to fight off the Bat People (King of Sartar p21) near Goan. I like to imagine the Bat People have the Crimson Bat after it's been driven overseas by Broyan at Whitewall. The Bat People probably have been preparing a lengthy summoning spell to revenge themselves on their enemies. When Harrek kills the Bat, the Lunars find themselves able to use the Bat again.

Due to the historical post-closing presence of the God Learner Fleet in the Koraru Sea, I'm inclined to give Goan a God Learner history and post a road that leads from there to Taluk Tumaru, the heart of the Six Legged Empire. Nowadays this road is overgrown with weeds, demented runners and pygmies but there are probably a few forts occupied by the Ia Rawthi, the Fort People (Missing Lands p70). Travelling along the road are either pilgrims from Katele (the Pure City in Fonrit) or slavers.

Goan is known for its Mushroom Drink which suggests the presence of a mushroom forest and black elves in the vicinity.

In Laskal is the Forest of Disease (RQ3: Introduction to Glorantha p15 ). Like Dorastor, it's stated to be wholly given over to chaos and evil. I'm think it was the site of the Great Tree of Moino but the God Learners had it cursed to clear the way to the Pamaltelan Plains. Given the Dorastor parallel, I don't think it's just a forest that emits disease but a horrible region in which many evil things are found.

>I also wonder where the Vadeli can be found in the 1620s. Clearly in
>the Vadeli Isles, and Jrustela. Do they still have any holdings in
>Pamaltela or elsewhere?

Player's Book: Genertela states on p34 that "pockets of Vadeli refugees exist in almost every port in the world". I think they are far more likely to be common in western ports as the Malkioni have a history of toleration while almost everybody else would drive them away.

I do believe the Vadeli are still around in Pamaltela. Mostly they infest the ports of Umathela but would be tolerated in Afadjann (their allies against Kareeshtu) but not in Kareeshtu (for the same reason).

I think the Vadeli would have a presence among the Tinimits of the Kumanku Isles and at Torfang in Slon. I am tempted to have Vadeli emissaries at the court of Kargan Illargor and perhaps a settlement at Maggot Isle (which would make Mong Pen the site of Kargan's Court).

Since their mythical kingdom of Chir/Oabil was wiped out by Slarges during the Demon Period, they are tentatively probing the wastes of Wongarissi to investigate their old enemies.
