>Revealed Mythology suggests that the Veldang and Agimori of Fonrit
>practice veneration of Garangordos and the Gargandites. This would be
>misapplied worship, which is not "cost effective,"

Revealed Mythologies actually states the Fonritans were animists turned theists. The implication of misapplied worship that it makes is just plain wrong because misapplied worship itself is a false practice that was given far too much prominence in Hero Wars.

>but of course it's the only way the Fonritans know.

Which would be extremely odd considering that their civilization had extensive contact with the God-Learners.

>It looks like he would say that he and his pals were essentially
>saints, whose intercession is necessary to reach the Seventeen.

The Fonritans have far more than the Seventeen Gods. Darleester the Noose, Ompalam, Tondiji, Ikadz, the Hungry Goddess, Dormal, Pamalt, Worlath, Humakt and Zorak Zoran are all known to be worshipped there.
