>Someone (Nick Brooke? IIRC), assumed the hypothesis that the summon of Black
>Eater caused Troll Kin curse
I believe I was the first (only?) person to suggest this - in my little
tale "The Black Eater's Curse"
(http://graham.albionsoft.com/glorantha/elder/curse.html). Certainly, if I
stole the idea from Nick, he's never pointed it out to me...
I'm not convinced that this tale is true, as such, but I do think it is one that some trolls believe. The idea comes mainly from the fact that I think many trolls will not like admitting that a foreign god could have such power over their race. A self-inflicted curse makes, somehow, more sense. I can also see it being used in troll politics - an excuse to pick on the Zorak Zorani, who betrayed the race; or justification for the same ZZ to claim a greater share of the trollkin, since they created them in the first place. It also fits in rather nicely (and deliberatly) with the claim that Arkat was a troll all along, even when he looked human.
Cheers,
Graham
