First of all, thanks for the replies so far. I guess there are people =

my time zone, or nearby, on the list.
The responses so far (Graham Robinson, Jane Williams, Peter Metcalfe, =

Hibbs) all have a bit in common - basically disabusing me of my notion =
that
there was an original Truth, or, even if there was once one, it is
irrelevant since so much Time has passed, with so many HeroQuests that
Glorantha's Truth today isn't what it was yesterday and won't be =
tomorrow.
However some of the things said made me wonder about something: I always assumed that in Glorantha the gods *do* exist. They exist as independent beings just as mortals do. They have will, they have agendas, etc.
But is that really so? Or are they 'merely' manifestations of the =
collective
belief of the people of Glorantha?=20
Possibly irrelevant - in either case I could come up with away to =
describe
how gods now have will and agendas even if they are manifestations of =
the
collective, but it is still an interesting idea. Until now I had always
looked at the gods much they way they are described in Greg Porter's
WarpWorld game - as independent beings whose power waxes and wanes based =
on
the number of worshippers and POW sacrificed.=20
If they are the result of belief, it actually makes it easier to =
understand
what the Seven Mothers and the EWF were doing when they created =
('realized')
their gods - they basically believed them into existence. Sort of like
"Sphere" by Michael Crichton...
