Ah, but the Vent is not the volcano that Lodril formed when he broke free from Krarsht. His first volcano was formed under Argan Argar's Dark Camp and is now found at Shadow Plateau. This formed a new volcano and destroyed the Dark Camp. Then Argan Argar came back, cut the head of the volcano and bound Lodril inside, forcing him to create the Castle of Black Glass. (I can't remember the exact sources here.)

The Vent is traditionally where Caladra burst forth to destroy a chaos army. Even if you discount the God Learner messing about, it would seem reasonable that the Vent was caused by a major volcano deity, why not Caladra?

What it says in the Lodril write-up is that Lodril used his powers many times, most notably in the Holy Country where the Vent can be seen, not that he first used his powers there. Whether it was Lodril or Caladra who made the Vent it was certainly derived from Lodril.

If you look at the geography, it makes more sense. The Stone Forest is near to the Shadow Plateau, the Footprint, where Lodril first entered the earth in the Sky Spear, is next to the Shadow Plateau. The Vent is considerably further away and doesn't really fit.

Was it? I would be surprised as the GROY is mainly Dara Happan and doesn't have much from nearby areas.
