Trollkin Surviving Trollball

Something that occurred to me last night - and I haven't been able to find any details on a
cursory scan of the archives.

What happens to the _last_ trollkin used in a Trollball match?

By the rules of the game, it must be still living (if perhaps somewhat "unwell") at the end.
Is this situation one with local/regional variations or is there a defined procedure for dealing with it.
Ideas that I've had are

1) It gets gifted to the MVP.
2) It is given to the referee.
3) It is placed under XA protection.
4) The sponsoring Kaarg's Son gets to eat it as a relative.
5) Some combination or whatever...

Suggestions?
