Another step towards the goal:

I located the original saga which cites (as villain) Harek the Berserker. It's:

"Egil’s saga einhenda ok Asmundar berserkjabana The Saga of Egil One-hand and Asmundr Berserk's-Bane in Old Norse"

but it is in Old Norse (!)

I'm looking for a trascription in english of the saga (not to be confused with the saga of Egil Skallagrimson which is a different saga and a different Egil AFAIK) or for a person who is able to locate and translate in the old Norse text the exact reference to Harek the Berserker.
