THAT is the ultimate temptation.
Mysticism is supposed to acheive the liberation of the cosmos.
No : actually, it IS the liberation of the cosmos. And it is the cosmos that is liberated. And it is the witness of that liberation. And it is the liberator. And it is the liberated. And it is the word AND. And it is the word IS. And it is none of these things, and all of them, and some of them, and everything else as well. And nothing, too.
If it has any actual, definite purpose as such, it is beyond mortal understanding, except where it is transformed by an active mystic event ; but always, in any case, within the limits of our own mortal coils.

This would actually vary somewhat from one mystic sect to another. The
Self is not inherently incompatible with the Mystic. If it were, it
would not exist.

There's also the possibility that you might be reincarnated as an indigo

ALL paths can lead to enlightenment.
I'm sure there's at least one myth about an anti-god who acheived it ...

This is another trap. If you believe this, you will NEVER be a true
mystic. Mystics are no better than other people. Often, they're worse.
You will NEVER get a better chance than the one you have NOW. The
various mystic sects in RW and in Glorantha use various means to
illustrate that the Eternal and the Ephemeral are alike. Reincarnation
is an illustration of the similarity/identity of the two.
Hope this helps, but doubt that it does ... :-(
