Though "Saw-Tooth Korvan" was not, presumably, so called by *Heortlings*, since there weren't any Heortlings around during the Inhuman Occupation. And we don't know where the epithet "saw-tooth" comes from. It seems most likely to me that the *elves* were the ones who named him "saw-tooth", and elves might (for religious reasons) be familiar with a wide range of evil tools which enemies use to damage trees.
