Given that a major elf bandit of the inhuman occupation was one saw-tooth Korvan (Cults Compendium p199), the prospect that Heortlings don't know what saws are strikes me as ludricrous.

Not only did the Romans have saws but so did the Greeks - Perdix (or Talos), Daedalus's nephew, was supposed to have invented it after either seeing a snake's jaw or a fish's backbone.
