I don't think I am over-analysing. I think that Humakt's position as the trustworthy and impartial wielder of Death is important to Orlanthi as well as Humakti. And I do think that Orlanth as the one who takes responsibility for his mistakes and fixes them is important to Orlanthi as well.
And don't forget that if you are talking about HeroQuests, changing the myth has consequences. In Orlanthi lands as we know them Humakti do not see themselves as simply weapons to be used by their lords. Making Humakt a tool to be used and abused has dangers.
