An actual daughter of a god, particularly one like Yinkin, is going to have an initiation which bears little resemblance to a standard Ernaldan initiation whatever the clan elders might have tried to arrange. The clansfolk know how a usual initiation goes because lots of people have been through it with only minor variations but they can't force it to take that route especially if unusual gods get involved.

I'm part way though writing an outline of the Ernaldan initiation based on what has been discussed so far which I'll post when it's a bit more complete. So far, there is less emphasis on winning contests and more on making choices and accepting the consequences.

I may be wrong but I don't think the Esrolians are Heortlings. At a guess Esrolian male initiation is all to do with identifing the initiate as a husband-protector of Ernalda and that he's not the only one.
