RE: Mixing spirits and gods

I'm with Peter, I think. Heroquests are the ways in which mortals experience the mythological truths of Cosmic reality. The cosmos exists before they are born, and after they are dead. It defines them, not the other way around.

The Hero Wars are special because they are the End Of The World. Reality is weakened, and you're there when it happens. At that point, even the puny powers wielded by mortals can be enough to decide which weak points actualy tear open, which ones manage to hang together, and IF the cosmos is healed then how things will be shaped afterwards.

All of this is possible due to the corrosive influence of Chaos, tearing away at the heart of the world, so it's not a good thing.

Re: Animism and Undead

It's an interesting idea, but riddled with hole of which Trolls are just one.

Shamans actively breach the barrier between the physical and spirit worlds. You can think of Ghosts as being spirits of the dead doing exactly the same thing, but in reverse. In fact Animists actively work to contact and deal with ancestral spirits - ghosts. Of course they realise this is a dangerous power, and that taken too far it can lead to undesirable effects, but fundamentaly they see nothing fundamentaly wrong with traffic between the world of the living and that of the dead. Many of them do it all the time.
